Professor Charles Brennan, Lincoln University, New Zealand

Charles is Professor of Food Science and Nutrition at Lincoln University, responsible for the development of research themes in food science and nutrition, collaborative research with national and international companies. He is also Director of the Centre of Food Research and Innovation at Lincoln University and the Director of the Lincoln University Postgraduate School.
He currently serves on the board of directors of New Zealand Food Innovation Network (South Island) and is Editor in chief of the International Journal of Food Science and Technology, Food Processing and Preservation as well as the International Journal of Molecular Sciences.
Charles is an established senior academic with over 25 years’ experience and has strong relationships with China being appointed as a chair Professor at South China University of Technology (Food Science Department, Guangzhou) where he jointly supervises graduate students and research projects.

Professor Jean-Pierre Poulain, University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès, France

Prof. Jean-Pierre Poulain holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Paris VII, France and a HDR in from the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne, France. He has a long and established academic career together with international cooperation in different parts of the world, in the specialised field of food studies and hospitality education. He conducts researches on the links between Food and Health in the frame of CERTOP UMR-CNRS 5044. Besides, he is a Full Professor, Dean of Department and Research Team Leader at University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès, France. He also holds the position of “Chair Food Studies: Food, Cultures & Health" at Taylor’s Toulouse University Centre (TTUC), Taylor’s University, Malaysia.
Prof. Poulain has published over 180 articles, books and book chapters, and has led several book series on food heritage. He has led the publication of the "Dictionnaire des cultures alimentaires", a book involving more than 160 authors from different countries across the globe. He has been a keynote to several international conferences and scientific events sharing his life-time research experience in the areas of food studies, sociology of obesity and food heritage.

Professor Jinap Selamat, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia

Professor Jinap Selamat received her PhD from the Pennsylvania State University, USA.  She has been working for Universiti Putra Malaysia for the past 38 years. Prof Jinap is currently a senior Professor at the Faculty of Food Science and Technology; and also a Research Associate and Head of Food Safety and Food Integrity (FOSFI), Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security. Before that, at UPM Prof Jinap has served as the Dean of Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Director of Innovation and Commercialization Centre and the Director of University Research Park. She is a member of Academy Science of Malaysia and Fellow of Malaysia Institute of Food Technologist. She has received many awards; recently a Malaysia's Rising Star’s Frontier Researcher Awards 2017 given to researchers who produced world’s highly cited articles in a new field of research under and Top Research Scientist of Malaysia (TRSM) in 2015. Associate Professor Hajah Mariam Abdul Latif, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Malaysia

Mariam Abdul Latif holds degrees specializing in Agriculture, Nutrition, Halal food management and Halal Nutrition. She began her career as a lecturer in agriculture and food processing at the Institute of Agriculture Air Hitam, Kluang, Johore and later at the Institute of Agriculture Serdang, Selangor. In 1994, she joined the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) as a Food Technologist and established the Office of Codex Contact Point Malaysia in 1996 under the Food Quality Control Division. She was the Chief Secretariat of the National Codex Committee in 1996-1998 and a Technical Committee Member on Halal Food and Islamic Consumer Goods of the Industry Standards Committee on Halal Standards Malaysia. Specialized in international food standards, she was appointed as a Consultant at the Codex Secretariat, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations based in Rome, Italy in 2001 and 2005.

Professor Guansheng Ma, Peking University, China

Guansheng Ma is a professor of nutrition, and the chief of the Department of Nutrition and Food Hygiene, School of Public Health, Peking University. He was the Deputy Director of the National Institute for Nutrition and Food Safety, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention during 2002-2015. Dr. Ma’s scientific interests are in the areas of food and nutrition policy, nutrition and health, NCDs control and prevention, particularly in the childhood obesity intervention.
Dr. Guansheng Ma started to study medicine in Shandong Medical University during 1981-1986, and then finished his master degree training in public health nutrition in Shanghai Medical University during 1986-1989. He obtained his Ph.D at the Division of Human Nutrition, Wageningen University, the Netherlands in 2007.
Dr. Ma sought advanced study on health education and health promotion at the School of Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA during 1992-1993.
